Calhoun County is nestled between five counties in the Florida Panhandle with its county seat in Blountstown Florida.  Blountstown is an hour drive to the Gulf of Mexico in Panama City. 

Close to Blountstown is the Apalachiola River and Chipola River host to many recreational activities like boating, fishing, kayaking, tubing, and swimming.
