Duval County is known for its beaches, St Johns River, Mayo Clinic Hospital, Jacksonville Port Authority, and Naval air stations (NAS and Mayport.) Jacksonville is the county seat which is the largest size city in Florida and is ranked the 14th most populated city in the United States.

Located in Northeast Florida, Duval County is headquarters to Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida and CSX Railroad Corporation. It is also home to numerous colleges and universities including the University of North Florida.

Duval County Tax Collector and Property Appraiser

The Duval County Tax Collector oversees the collection of monies owed to the City of Jacksonville, Atlantic Beach, Jacksonville Beach, and Neptune Beach for: Property Taxes; Local Business Tax; Tags and Titles for Autos, Vessels, and Mobile Homes; Parking Citations; and, Animal Licenses.

Drivers license services are also available at the Duval County Tax Collectors office and branches throughout Jacksonville. Hunting, saltwater and fresh water fishing licenses can be purchased at the same Jacksonville tax collector offices.

According to the United States Department of Education, the Duval County Magnet Program is one of the most successful in the nation.  The students enrolled in the magnet program are given an opportunity to explore unique interests in different subjects as well as the traditional ones.  The Duval County Public School System has an average of 20,000 students currently attending their magnet program.

Florida Technical College

Jacksonville University
