Franklin County

Along the Panhandle of Florida is Franklin County known for its beautiful barrier islands and its abundance of seafood. The county seat is Apalachicola which sits on Apalchicola Bay. 

Apalachicola Bay is a lagoon known for its oysters that is protected by the barrier island of St. George Island.

Franklin’s County coastline is slightly more than a 1 hour drive from Tallahassee, the state’s capital.  Many residents and FSU college students drive to the area for its great seafood restaurants, barrier islands, and beaches.

Franklin County Library
