Liberty County
The Apalachicola National Forest and covers most of the lower two-thirds of Liberty County with forest land. According to the U.S. Census of 2000, Liberty County is the least populated county in the State of Florida with only 12 people per square mile. It has an estimated population of 8,273 people.
Liberty County is bordered by two great rivers, the Ochlockonee River on the east and the Apalachicola River on the west.
The county’s elevation ranges from about 230 feet above sea level in the northern hills to 30 feet above sea level in the flat woods at the southern end of Liberty County.
