Martin County

Martin County sits on the Atlantic Ocean north of Palm Beach County.  The area is referred to as the Treasure Coast because of the shipwrecked Spanish galleons from the 1700’s on the ocean floor off the coast.

The county seat is the City of Stuart which is also called the “Sailfish Capital of the World” because of the large abundance of sailfish off the coast of Martin County in the Atlantic Ocean.

Martin County has a large boating industry (boat manufacturers) and organizations such as the US Coast Guard Auxiliary, US Sailing Center, and the Chapman School of Seamanship are located in the county.
