Sumter County

Northwest of Orlando is Sumter County Florida.  It is called the Crossroads of Central Florida.  Outdoor activities include fishing on Lake Panasoffkee, kayaking on the Withlacoochee River, and golfing year round on 20 plus public golf courses.

One of the largest planned retirements communities, The Villages, has 75,000 residents and is located in Sumter County and several surrounding counties. The county seat is Bushnell in Sumter County Florida.
