Walton County is in the western part of the Florida Panhandle, which is famous for beautiful beaches on the Gulf of Mexico.

The county seat for Walton County is DeFuniak springs. Walton County includes the highest point in Florida, which is Britton Hill at 345 above sea level.

Lake Defuniak (Chipley Park) is in the center of DeFuniak Springs. It is a 40 acre lake that is spring fed and perfectly round. Chipley Park also includes an amphitheater, a playground, and fishing on the lake is permitted with electric motors of 1 horsepower or less.
